Time to post a video of mixing up a week of Keto Chow. It’s very similar to my earlier videos for People Chow and Ketofood. You can find the recipe for Keto Chow here. There’s also a video showing what to do with the powder, mixing up 3 meals here.
I mix all 7 days at the same time and do not have a problem with it separating or consistency in the mixture. It’s pretty tiring when people want to argue the merits of mixing this way so I’m not going to argue with them anymore =) I’ve been mixing this way for going on 8 months, never had a problem. You don’t like it? don’t use it! Go ahead and mix every day individually; but this works far better for me than mixing individual days ever did.
Chris Bair is a computer geek and SalesForce.com system administrator for his "day job". He became involved in the powdered foods (aka "soylent") movement in January 2014, originally with a conventional recipe and later switching to a high fat, low carb "ketogenic" variant on October 2014. In January 2015 he created the recipe for Keto Chow and released it without restriction for anyone to use, at the same time he began mixing the recipe up for people that wanted a finished product and has seen steady growth in the business every month since. Conversely since starting Keto, he has added 6 new holes to his belt and recently bought a far smaller belt. He has also eaten far more bacon and cheese than in all his previous years combined trying to avoid fat but still slowly gaining weight. Chris has lived in Utah for most of his life, except for a few years living in Chile where he learned Castillian. Chris and his wife have two sets of twins with a couple singltons thrown in for good measure.

Chris,
Thanks for posting a vid of the new recipe, it is very informative for me as I decide whether or not to embark upon soylent. One question that comes to mind is how you mix each day from the weeks worth of KetoChow. I would assume you just scoop some into a blender bottle, but you mentioned in the video that measuring by volume is inaccurate. Do you measure each meal bottle by weight instead (using the scale again)?
I didn’t hear you say how much salt went into the mix?

Also, if we’re using the cod liver oil rather than fish oil capsules – how much cod liver oil goes into a shaker cup (assuming 3 shaker cups per day)? The listings on diy.soylent.me don’t make this clear.
Thanks again for all your work on this, Chris!

Liquid fish oil and capsules are both there so you can choose which to use. Either 5 pills/day or 5ml a day. Just zero out one or the other.

dymatize – 770 g
Psyllium Husk – 112 g
Calcium / Magnesium D3 – 35 g
Xantham Gun – 10.5 g
Calcium Phosphate – 14 g
Colin3 bitartrate – 14 g
Potassium citrate – 42 g
Salt – 42 g
vitamin k – 7 pills.
I noticed that you didn’t add any ground up multivitamin which is what’s listed on DIY.soylent. Do you take them whole daily now or did you just skip that?

This video predates grinding up the vitamins and including them, at the time I was just taking the vitamins in pill form.

is there a benefit to grinding them over just taking them with your fish oil?

It’s one less thing to remember, that’s about it.
